Overview
The Maintenance Manager is a hands-on position that is responsible for preventative and routine maintenance task in our food manufacturing plant. The Maintenance Manager works with their staff to troubleshoot issues, read schematics, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Machine maintenance, breaking down equipment, adjusting and setting up for daily production.
- Preventative maintenance, which includes daily and weekly inspection on all aspect of machinery.
- Develops budgets for plant maintenance, projects and major and minor line improvements.
- Schedules, supervises, and directs work of the staff.
- Evaluates performance and works with Plant Manager regarding personnel issues.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Able to work overtime and on call 24 hours a day for emergency situations. Weekend work required as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4-7 years’ experience in Food production/ facility maintenance; 3 year’s supervisory experience
- Must have previous experience reading schematics
- Experience with SQF or other GFSI program
- College degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering; equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirement
- Must be a proactive team player who learns quickly when facing new problems and a learner open to change
- ADVANCED mechanical and electrical skills
- Must be able to work with power tools and work on high and low voltages. Have own tools
- Equipment knowledge of: Weber Slicers, Sealers, Multi-Vac, Flow wrappers & Labelers
- Able to read engineering schematic such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic
- Welding experience
- Light Carpentry
- Excellent communication skills. Able to interact with all levels of personnel
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
